When it comes to achieving our goals, one of the most important things we can do is to clarify our intentions.  Why?  Because our subconscious minds will not allow us to take the next step forward if all it can see is a giant blank void of uncertainty.

The Big Unknown

Your subconscious mind is all about keeping you safe, in your comfort zone. Your subconscious mind doesn’t like “the great unknown.”  So in order to ease your subconscious mind, you must show it what comes next.

For example:  Let’s say you’ve got Fibromyalgia, and you’re sick and in pain most all of the time.  You just want to feel better, right?  But you’ve been sick for so long, you can barely function, and most days your life is confined to your home and bed.  A general command to your subconscious of “I want to feel better” isn’t enough to do the trick.  Why not?  Because your subconscious mind doesn’t know what comes next.  What would you do if you felt better?  Tap into your imagination and create a scenario that shows your subconscious mind how you would look and feel, and what you would be doing if you felt well.  Get a pen and paper and make a list of all your heart’s desires.

Let’s say your goal is to be financially free.  You tell your subconscious mind that you want to have ten million dollars so that you don’t have to work anymore.  And then life goes on and on, and you’re not getting what you want, so you feel frustrated and angry.  What went wrong?  Being financially free so that you don’t have to work is actually a “negative” goal.  It’s a goal that has you running away from what you don’t want – which means you are always focused on what you don’t want.  A better way to achieve your goal of being financially free is to think instead about what you really want to do – what you are passionate about, with all your heart.  And then do it!  If you can’t do it in the physical world, then spend lots of time imagining it, and feeling happy, grateful, and excited while you do this.  Show your subconscious mind what you would be being, doing, and having with all that money.

If your goal is to attract the perfect relationship, then spend time showing your subconscious mind how you would be feeling and what activities you would be doing with your most compatible soul mate.  Indicate the type of person you want to reflect back to you by working out the programs and beliefs that you are projecting.  Like “attracts” like.  If you’re feeling miserable all the time, your subconscious mind will say to you, “okay, more of that,” and reflect back to you more interactions with people you are actually in resistance to.  So work out your issues to be the kind of person you’d like to “attract,” or reflect back to you!  Make sure you are always asking to attract the person who is most compatible with you, as we all have more than one soul mate – and some of them aren’t so compatible – and also be sure that you include specific traits about this person, such as gender.  Believe it or not, that’s important.  See yourself with this person, going places, doing fun things together, and then make space in your life for this person to show up by letting go of the need for him or her, and being happy and grateful for your life just as it is.

Your subconscious mind can be like a frightened little child sometimes, and it’s up to you to guide your ship.  Changing your life can be as simple as clarifying your goals and intentions so as to show your subconscious what comes next.  Once your subconscious mind understands that it’s not a dark scary void, it will be happy to take you to where you want to go.
